Disability Assistance

Up to $1,483/month + annual earnings exemption $16,200

BC's income support for persons with the Person with Disability (PWD) designation. Includes an annual earnings exemption of $16,200. Earned income exemption applies only after being on assistance for 1+ month. RDSP is fully exempt from asset and income tests in BC.

Eligibility: Must be a BC resident with a Person with Disability (PWD) designation, aged 18+, and in financial need. Must be on assistance for 1+ month before earned income exemption applies.

Community Living BC (CLBC)

Varies based on individualized support plan

A BC Crown corporation that funds supports and services for adults with developmental disabilities through a network of community service providers. Services include employment support, community inclusion, housing, and respite. Not autism-specific; serves adults with a range of developmental disabilities. Provided through a network of contracted service providers across BC.

Eligibility: Must be a BC resident aged 19+ with a developmental disability, assessed as eligible through CLBC's intake process. Includes adults with intellectual disability, ASD with significant adaptive functioning limitations (through PSI), and FASD.
