Programs

Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)

Single: up to $1,408/month (basic needs $809 + shelter $599); Single parent + 1 child: up to $2,036.91/month; Couple (1 disabled): up to $2,107/month; Couple (both disabled): capped at $2,370/month

Ontario's primary income support program for persons with disabilities. Provides monthly financial assistance, drug coverage, basic dental, eye exams and glasses every 3 years, and diabetic supplies. As of July 2025, rates increased 2.8%. Includes employment benefit of $100/month if working, with 75% of earnings over $1,000 deducted. Extended Health Benefits available if leaving ODSP. CDB is exempted from ODSP income calculations. A new simplified single online application covers both OW and ODSP.

Eligibility: Must be an Ontario resident aged 18+, in financial need with assets under $40,000 (single) or $50,000 (couple) +$500 per child, and have a substantial physical or mental impairment that is continuous or recurrent and expected to last one year or more.

Special Services at Home (SSAH)

Varies based on assessed needs

A needs-based funding program providing support for in-home and community services for persons with developmental or physical disabilities. Covers personal development and growth activities as well as respite care to give caregivers a break.

Eligibility: Must be an Ontario resident with a developmental or physical disability. Funding is needs-based and determined through assessment.
